THE SLEUTHSAYER
In the words of human behavioralist G.L. Simons: "Sex has a perennial fascination
for mankind. As sexual creatures, men and women are seldom indifferent to the
promptings of libido. One thing emerges {hmm?} from my studies—sex is a
potent force, too ingrained in the biology of life to be ignored. In simple indulgence,
the symbols of power or the urge to mate, sex makes its demands. It will not go
away."
Nor will Sleuth, and so I'm retuming to the seen of my earlier triumph, "The
25 Sexiest Women of 1990" {Vol. 3, No. 5}, to "simply indulge"
again in our powerful "urge to mate" with the leading sex "symbols"
of the day {and night}. What makes a woman sexy?, you ask. Because I say so, I
respond. Actually, I'm a bit more open to suggestion than that... and suggest
that any female celeb who'd like to be considered for our next '25 Sexiest"
tribute be equally open to audition. Mrs. Sleuth suggests I close right here..

After attempting to ascertain what makes a woman "sexy" in the bedroom,
acclaimed authoress Wendy Leigh reported: "After many interviews with celebrity
women on their sexual insecurities, I found they had also tried to discover what
the criteria were for judging. Was it face? figure? words? staying power? speed
and ability to attain orgasm? secret sexual techniques? prowess at oral sex? {gulp}.
Did 'sexy' even exist?"
We certainly think so...and thus now continue our quest to separate the best from
the rest. The '25 Sexiest" women whom we've singled out {and that goes double
for most of them} range in age from 59 {Guess Who?, Liz Taylor} to 20 {Guess?
Jeans, Claudia Schiffer}. Fourteen were made in the U.S.A., while 11 come from
Europe—five Frenchwomen, two each from Italy and England, and a single entry
from Holland and Germany. And talk about splitting hairs: our randydom sampling
emerged with 13 blondes and 12 brunettes {only their undressers know for sure}!
What—and whom—could be more fair.. .
As Sophia Loren once observed: "Sex appeal is 50 percent what you've got
and 50 percent what people think you've got"...and we think we've got the
sexiest selection of stars ever laid out between a set of covers. We hope they
a-peel equally to you.
