THE SLEUTHSAYER
Proclaims Mario Testino, recently dubbed "the world's hottestfashion photographer"
by the New Yorker magazine: "I am so luckyto do what I do (Sleuth seconds
that emotion). I love being a voyeur. The whole life. The people. The clothes
(or lack thereof). The girls. Very sexy, these girls," Testino testifies.
"They are veryyoung, about eighteen (thankfully). I'm fascinated by youth.
Young people have this big freedom with their bodies. I like to push them when
they start."
And what better place to start than "The First Time Ever"...the debut
disrobings of today's top celebrities! This is our third voyeurage to the past,
with all
different "Visual Virgins" from the prior pair. As Testino concludes:
"There always have to be new ones. It's life. Life is about shedding certain
things." So it's back
to the would shed for voy-yours truly! •
"Actually, it's easier to make more mature women look sexy," explains
top London lensman Beverley Goodway, "because they have a greater knowledge
of their own'sexuality. When I photograph someone of 18 or 19, a look of astonishment
comes over their faces. I say, 'Do you like it?' And they say, 'Yes.' They wantto
do it, but they can't quite conceive of themselves in that situation."
Certainly pious puritan Dr. Laura Schlessinger couldn't...but as her radio rival
Dr. Susan Block noted when "Dr. Laura's Dirty Dozen" early photos surfaced
last Fall: "Most people, especially women, get nude pictures of themselves
taken at some point in their lives, usually by a photographer who's also an illicit
lover or voyeuristic admirer" (Oscar winners Kim Basinger and Geena Davis
are among the "trophies" we're presenting here). As are BOTH Dr. Laura
and Dr. Susan, the "Pair o' Does" (starting on p. 20) whose Freudian
slip-ups prove that each was once "Jung at heart" (sorry—I oughts
have my head examined).
As was perky Peta Wilson (p. 72) who admits: "I did some stuff for Harper's
Bazaar with Natasha Henstridge (whose "First Time" we revealed lasttime).
We did a beauty story together when we were both models, and I think we were both topless. God, she's got good tits. But nothing really naked. Nothing like a twat shot or anything" (now, NOW nikita!).
"No question about it," observes the beauteous Basinger (who opens this
issue) "we live in a very visual society (we see eye to eye on that). You
go to the penthouse real quick with certain looks. But when there's nothing there, you'll end up in the basement." But, in the end, wherever you choose to get off, these "FTE 3" finds can be your elevators...
