Some people are sending me receipts for purchases of videos in the neighborhood
of 5, 6 and 7 dollars each. They claim they are previously viewed but good quality.
I am sure some of them have tube all over them, but the point is well taken. I
know there are those who watch the videos and watch the downloaded stills from
the Internet, but there is something about the high quality 8" x 11"
photo that does something for your dick that a video cannot do. You cannot cum
all over the video screen because that would hurt the video screen. You cannot
cum all over your computer because that would hurt the computer. You can cum all
over the pages of JOCK, I have and many of our readers have. It's an age old tradition
that will be around for a long time.
When television was invented, there were rumors that movie houses would go out
of business. Yes, for a long time there were some that were in trouble and closed
along with the drive-in theaters, but now, there are more movie theaters than
ever. The newspaper industry was threatened because of television news and we
lost a lot of newspaper companies. Now there are still newspapers on the street,
but not as many and the ones that survived are better than they ever were. Advertising
is the reason they can still stay alive. There are still major newspapers and
there are still major magazines. We are a major magazine in the gay market. The
problem now is that we can't do it for a few dollars. If we were selling millions
of copies then it would be different. The advertising price would go up and the
need to pass the paper price increase on to the consumer would shift to the advertiser.
COST PER THOUSAND is the key to advertising strategy. If you have ten thousand
readers and the advertiser paid a hundred dollars for his ad, he spent ten dollars
per thousand readers. If we had a hundred thousand readers he spent a dollar per
thousand readers. Gay magazines have a limited audience or readership, so the
cost must be distributed or there will be no magazine. Those of us who like looking
at a great layout will hang in there and there won't be an increase for a long
time now, we hope. I mean how much more can we pay for paper, for models, for
writers, for production assistants, for photographers, for typesetters, for couriers,
or for editors?
