THE SLEUTHSAYER
"They are calling it the Great Cover-Up," a recent Hollywood article
began. "For if today's young starlets want to be considered bankable at the
box office, it seems they must keep their assets covered. Agents are already wearily
calling it the `no nudity thing' and it is the most discussed issue in any contract.
The bigger you are, so goes the new philosophy, the less you need to show."
Well, to reverse the title of a 1995 nostalgia flick, That Was Now, This Is THEN:
The very first unclothed photo sessions of today's hottest stars in this stunning
see-quel to our best-selling Vol. 8, No. 1, "The First Time Ever."
As Allure observed in late 1996: "They had to start somewhere, even if it
meant starting in the buff. Before they were stars, more than a few actors and
actresses posed for magazines or acted in B movies for the, urn, exposure. A star's
early forays into the nude and lewd were once a source cif shame. But they can
sometimes enhance a career." And an issue...
The Allure article singled out the double delights of Mamie Van Doren, Elke Sommer
and Beth-hurley-porn-sta">ElizaBeth Hurley...ALL of whom we include exclusively from their EARLIEST
epidermal experiences. "Even Cindy Crawford wasn't always Cindy Crawford,"
notes her Elite agent Monique . Pillard. "I had to go to war for her!"
Sleuth presents Cindy's initial skirmish on page 29.
"Women are particularly hard on themselves and their bodes," says Cindy
{we detect a rigidity on the part of men, too}, "so if you trust the photographer,
to capture a beautiful moment is great. But there were a few topless things before
that I got talked into doing, that I was later angry at myself about. I think
a {teenager} getting pressured into taking her top off is a lot different than
Sharon Stone deciding to show everything because this might be her one big chance—which
it was." Counters Sharon {whose "first time" you can encounter
on page 75}: "I liked being twenty-one. I liked not showing up for a modeling
job and staying in bed because I'd gone out all night. I think the media has a
very strong responsibility to show things the way they really are." And we really do...
So much so that Screw magazine dubbed CELEBRITY SLEUTH "The Best Reason to Spend $5.99 at a Newsstand"...before adding: "But where the fuck is Xuxa, Sleuth?" On pages 50-53...
First Time Lucky —Again!.
