Frisky 40 Something EDITORIAL
Welcome to another issue of 40+!! I'm sure that you have noted that we are bigger
and better than ever before! We are currently sporting a fantastic new Art Director...who
comes to us from some very well known publications. We are truly lucky and appreciative
to have her on board. I speak for everyone here at 40+ in welcoming Barbara to
the staff.
In keeping with the times, I would like to take this opportunity to comment on
an extremely urgent issue that all of us need to be apprised of. During the past
several months we have been witnessing the enclave of the "Blue Nose"
reactionary movements. It is obvious that 1996 is an election year. They are striking
out all over like the holy wars of puritanical eras gone by, leaving bloodshed
and a foul taste in our more liberated mouths. It is time to stop these fanatics
before our freedom is diminished to a flicker.
Censorship denies our very basic rights to the freedom of speech and the freedom
of expression which is guaranteed to us in the Constitution. Unlike the 'blue
nose' groups who want us to believe to the contrary, we do have these freedoms.
We must all take a personal stand to help preserve these rights. I urge every
reader and a friend of every reader of 40+ to take pen in hand and make such a
commitment....write to your state representatives and congressmen and insist upon
what the Constitution guarantees each of us!
We, here at 40+, have always stood for the freedoms guaranteed and we will continue
to support you in this battle, as you are continuing to support us!
