INTRODUCTION
In the past decade we've witnessed a tremendous boom in adult entertainment. Certainly,
there's always been pornography, graphic sex in print or in pictures, first still
and then moving, but never before in such sheer quantity. And never in such quality
either, until the past few years. Not only are explicit sex movies more abundant,
but there has been a quantum leap forward in their craftsmanship and production
values. Exactly why this has happened can be attributed to a number of factors.
The relaxed legal climate of recent years of course has been a major element;
there's much more encouragement to make a good erotic movie when you don't have
to worry about going to jail for it. Also, a lot can be said for the motion picture
industry itself, for providing a "legitimate" outlet for people to see
films with explicit sex content, a thing that was a long time in coming (no pun).
We're speaking of course of the X in the G-PG-R-X Rating Code. Today's erotic
film industry owes its name to that fourth category. Given these factors and the
more liberated attitudes toward sex that developed during the Sixties, we bask
today in a semi-golden era for erotic cinema. Not only has this given us some
very fine and artistic films with explicit sex in them, but we now have our own
X-rated star system. The top porn people are not merely sex symbols, but sex stars
like Seka, Serena, Annette Haven, Lisa De Leeuw, Marilyn Chambers, Georgina Spelvin,
Carol Connors, John Holmes, John Leslie, and many more. Stars we can dream about
screwing while we're watching them actually screw on the screen! Unlike the old-time
porn actors, whose underground films were expensive and hard to find, today's
porn people are available to everyone, in riotous pulsing color, either in adult
theaters or on home videocassettes. In this special issue of Adam Film World Guide,

some new faces that we think may blossom into big, bright, lusty stars very soon.
