PUBLISHER'S STATEMENT
If this issue of CINEMA-X Magazine has a slightly different look there are some pretty good reasons. We put the editorial offices and the art department in a very large sack and carried them west to the sunny state of California. The move was hectic, the setting-up chaos beyond belief, but the departments are alive and well and functioning like I can't believe.
CINEMA-X now has a new executive editor and an entirely new art staff. The new crew is still working in the old clothes they wore when they helped unpack a jillion boxes and dug into the meet-the-deadline task of hammering this issue together — while the workmen hammered and sawed and pounded together the new offices at the same time. Out of it all came the sparkling issue you now have in your lucky hands.
The 'new' editor is a white-haired veteran of 29 years of journalism — the best man we could find for the job and for you, our readers. Every man-jack on the art staff is a three-star performer, with Art Director Charles Benson keeping an eagle eye on what comes from the layout desks. Mr. Collier's still in his fatigues, with the whip for the staff welded to his hand. When the heat's off, we'll dress him better, but getting that whip away from him is going to be a problem!
Like me, Martin's looking forward to a re-acquaintance with multi-talented Marlene Willoughby, if only via a picture of this superstar. She's slated to appear on the front cover of our January issue. Marlene's a real pro. Easy on the eyes —hard on a man's temperature. She's been causing uncontrollable erections ever since her first appearance on the screen. You've been warned!
Just in case you haven't heard, the 4th annual Erotic Film Awards ceremonies heated up the old Hollywood Palladium on Sunset Boulevard in Tinsel Town, and the winners were: Best Actor Jamie Gillis, Best Actress Samantha Fox, Best Supporting Actor Bobby Astor. Babylon Pink was voted the best film. Glad I wasn't on the judging panel. That's a rough job and a thankless one.
I haven't yet cooled down from viewing an X-rater that's bound to come up on the pick-a-flick list for next season's Award ceremonies. John Leslie and Jessie St. James have done it again. Together. And better than ever — in Talk Dirty To Me. This horny-humping epic will make you get a grip on yourself!
One of CINEMA-X's best film reviewers put in a lot of overtime eyeballing many of the productions that appear in this issue's Out Of The Can segments. David Davidson is an actor/screenwriter/reviewer whose comments are sharp and to the point — and most readable.
I think I've delayed you long enough. Time to turn the page and enjoy CINEMA-X's first edition from the west coast. Unless I miss my guess, when you finish, you'll say what I did — Now! That's entertainment!
