EDITORIAL NOTE
Summer should be here though we don't guarantee it. Instead, we shall try to ensure
a warm mood by offering another colourful issue of your favourite magazine.
A bit of Gothic fiction should cast shadows on your bright nights, and David Benedictus
- the man who slandered his old school, Eton, in his novel The Fourth of June,
who had another novel, You're a Big Boy Now, made into a superb movie by Francis
(The Godfather) Ford Coppola, who has written numerous other novels, directed
plays and married "the brilliant and sexy actress" (his own words) Yvonne
Antrobus - David Benedictus will do just that with his startling short story,
ElisaBeth ... ElisaBeth.
Another well-known novelist is Philip Cleife, author of the best-selling The Pinchgut
Masterpiece and The Slick and the Dead. Turn to Educating George for his satirical
attack on the vagaries of contemporary sex manuals.
Pictorially, our features range from the usual lovely ladies to an illustrated
dissertion on the cult of comics; Candid Cameos takes you into the countryside
for a ride on a bicycle made for two; and, even better, a novelty glimpse of the
Nudest Sophia Loren. Plus souped-up Ford Populars, very classy fashion, Zero Mostel,
Hildegarde Eisenach and Jonathon Green - the latter trying to take all the pleasure
out of money, which might be an unforgiveable sin. That being said, what more
to say, but read on!
