EDITORIAL NOTE
The New Year has arrived, and like the old is full of crisis — which is
as good a reason as any for buying this magazine. What better way of forgetting
the troubled world than turning over the pages of Club International, with perhaps
a soothing drink in your hand? As usual, the contents are varied enough to satisfy
just about every taste.
Our lead feature this month is a detailed account of the remarkable sex-wave that
is sweeping modern Germany, specially researched and written for us by that noted
writer, Paul Tabori. Hot on its heels comes Rod Caird's lucid examination of the
slyer sexual suggestiveness inherent in advertising — an article that traces
the course of this activity from Victorian days to the present. And whilst still
on purely sexual subjects, we have Quentin Crisp's hilarious exposé of
transvestite artistes and James Hewitt writing on voyeurism.
Our interview this month is with Alain Delon, the leading French film actor and
figure of some notoriety. Normally difficult to get hold of, he was tracked down
for us by Fred Robbins who has performed an excellent job on drawing Delon out
of himself.
Visual delights include Mike Hill's coverage of The Six Heures de Paris, our new
follow-up to the popular Candid Cameos, Whoredom Must Advertise!, the highly graphic
