ON THE COVER
Beau Harkins, is a vision to be held, for as long as you can. His truly sensuous form is neatly briefed in Calvin Klein high cut cottons available at Marshall Field's. As Beau coyly peels out of his zipper-fly 550 Levi's available at The Gap, you'll find that underneath it all, he's a very big boy after all.
Hair: Nye Martin for The Salon, West Hollywood. Grooming: Geoffrey Nathans. Makeup: Chris Breidenbach. Photographed exclusively for Dream by Kathleen Bellesiles.

EDITORIAL
There's good news and there's bad news about your sexual preference. The good news is, there is no bad news. Everything goes. What you do is your business. What you like. Who you like. How you like to do it. When and where. It's all up to you. Providing, that is, you don't sexually impose yourself against someone else's will and you respect the age of consent.
Over a decade ago a young group of men and women gathered here in San Diego, California. We had a dream to publish a magazine. A magazine dedicated to the belief that all is fair in love, whatever the gender of your mate by choice. Our dream magazine was called Vision. And, in retrospect, it was just that: a vision of the future. A vision of freedom.
With this Premiere Edition of Dream we bring to the present the future that we envisioned over ten years ago. With Dream we now have more than a decade of learning experience behind us.
We have lived through the 80's where those too frightened or ignorant to accept changes—changes which would allow others, as well as themselves, to live life to its fullest in absence of the fear of condemnation by reason of personal, sexual choice—fought desperately to reverse the direction of freedom in an attempt to hurl us light years into our past. The 80's: a decade marred by feelings of hopelessness and despair due to unresolved answers to questions on our health and wellbeing. A decade where morbid greed and hypocrisy chisled away at the stone cold religious, political and financial Lead- ers of our world. A decade where the likes of Meese, Falwell, Swag- gart, Bakker, Milken, Keating and LaRouche rose and later fell. A decade where each of us had a clear opportunity to witness historic changes worldwide, which have allowed us to see more of the big picture: A brighter tomorrow is at our beck and call. It's up to us to move onward.
And now as we head toward the 21st Century, we have an obligation to continue to fight for the freedoms bestowed upon us by our very Creator. We must openly challenge the dying breed of small-minded busybodies who pass judgment upon those who explore those freedoms. We must never allow compromise brought about by those who oppose our liberties. Today is the day. The right day. The day of freedom. The day where your dreams become a reality. Reach for tomorrow and live out your Dream.
