CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Recently, The Canadian government amended a law dealing with child pornography. In laymen terms it stated that the distribution and publishing of child pornography will be punishable with prison terms of up to ten years. Previously, the maximum sentence was two years imprisonment.
We, at elite magazine heartedly concur with such a move on the part of the government. What we do not agree with is Canadian media associating this magazine with child pornography. It ws brought to our attention that during a recent national newsprogram dealing with this new amendment and child pornography a picture of Elite magazine was shown on the television screen. Since that time our staff have received numerous calls from relatives, associates and friends referring to the broadcast. It has caused us undue embarrassment and concern due to what we consider irresponsible reporting.
As such, we feel that a definitive statement outlining our views should be made in order that you the reader will be aware of our policies.
We, at elite magazine do not condone any form whatsoever of child pornography. We have not nor will we ever be associated with any form of child pornography. We consider ourselves to be legitimate publishers of adult men's magazines and regard the publishers of child pornography to be a blight on today's society.
We do not consider ourselves moralists but we will endeavour by any form of legal mean to stop anybody associating elite magazine with any form of child pornography..
