LOOKING IN
The Canadian film industry, which at one time was associated with documentary films, has now expanded into big-time movie-making. Many of the international and Hollywood stars are opting to make Canadian-produced movies. Possibly it could be a tax break, but whatever the motives they are arriving in droves.
Such was the case a short while ago when Susannah York teamed up with Elliot Gould of M*A*S*H fame in Toronto to make the movie Silent Partner. Fred Robbins, whose editorial credits include Playboy and Playgirl, to mention a couple, managed to pin down (not literally) the very beautiful and talented Susannah York and his interview with her makes entertaining reading for those who dig getting close to the thoughts of a movie star.
While we are on the subject of beautiful women, we suggest that you carefully read the article The Greatest Show On Earth. It's about the wonderful spectacles that periodically appear on our TV screens promoting the most beautiful girls in the world — in other words, the beauty queen pageants. Jack Maloney, who is becoming a regular contributor to Elite, takes you behind the scenes and provides us with many of the happenings that Mr. Joe Average knows absolutely nothing about. You'll be surprised at the goings-on before Miss Universe or Miss World receives her glittering crown.
Censorship is always a favorite topic, especially for those who are becoming increasingly frustrated when they are not allowed to read a magazine of their choice or view a movie at the local theater. Banned In Beaverland is an article by Paul Sutter that deals with the censorship problem in Canada. Although much has been written on the subject, nevertheless we were impressed by Mr. Sutter's treatment of this sensitive topic, especially in view of new laws that are waiting to be thrust upon the Canadian population by our ever-eager politicians. It's a pity they don't put as much effort into solving Canada's economic problems. Maybe it's their way of taking the pressure off themselves and gaining a few brownie points with an ever-gullible public.
In case you thought we had forgotten the fiction fans among our readers, we didn't! The Last Man, which was written by Skip Fickling, a new contributor to Elite, deals with nuclear disaster and one hUmma-porn-star">Uman who is left to face an imminent death. The story is reminiscent of Neville Shute's novel On The Beach, which was made into a movie starring Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner some years back.
Getting into the fun and games that Elite provides every month, we continue with the saga of Beverley Beaver, who is that all-Canadian girl desperately wanting to achieve fame and fortune for herself. The creativity of Erik Larsen helps put our heroine into a predicament from which there is no escape except by way of . . .
The Great Canadian Beaver Hunt, which is fast becoming famous throughout Canada and the U.S.A., returns to give you a personal look at some of the ladies who delight in exposing themselves to a candid camera. Actually, we feel complimented that these beauties of the boudoir allow us the pleasure of their company in the pages of Elite.
Fantasy Tapes continues to bring you into the minds and thoughts of our readers and this month's fantasies are more than weird and wonderful — they are dynamite! Guaranteed to make you give a second look at your friendly neighbor who might be fantasizing about you.
Our three Elite ladies round off this month's offering and in case you are a looker instead of a reader, we know you won't be disappointed.
