EDITORIAL NOTE
Eureka! She Won!
Regular readers of this publication, will remember that in the last issue, we
told you that our own Stevi Secrets was arrested for pandering. All her property,
including equipment, videos, and mailing list were seized by the state of Nevada.
Well, we have news that every free spirited American should rejoice in. Last week,
a Federal Court judge ruled that the state had no right to seize the property.
He ordered the state to return it forthwith. Included in the ruling, in the court's
opinion, paying people to appear in adult videos does not constitute promoting
prostitution (the legal definition of pandering). While the Federal courts did
not have the authority at that stage to throw the charges out, the court did advise
the state's D.A. to carefully consider his case before proceeding.
While the District Attorney claimed he did not agree with the Federal court, he
nonetheless, dismissed all charges, and returned all confiscated property. Again,
we say, all Americans who believe in freedom of speech and the constitution should
celebrate.
No Politics Please!
In the first issue of this magazine, I stated that the purpose of this publication
was not to right the wrongs of society, not to help elect a president, and not
to promote any particular political agenda. The only purpose of this magazine
was to turn people on—and perhaps to give like-minded individuals the chance
to correspond and meet. I still believe this today. However, every so often, something
comes along that proves the exception to the rule.
One of those exceptions is when the government tries to legislate what we read
or see. Another exception is when a fool like Senator Jessie Helms opens his mouth
and puts his foot in it. An example of this, is his latest utterances, that funding
for AIDS research should be cut, because it is a victim precipitated disease.
My writing on this in the subject in the September issue has brought quite a response
from you. Your letters were both pro and con, with those in agreement far out
weighing Mr. Helms' supporters. Because, I did not want to devote the letters
column in this issue to a debate of Jessie's proposal, I choose not to publish
any of the letters, save but one. The writer of this one, claims that Leg Tease
is pure filth. He goes on to say, that I am in the same class as the scum at CNN.
Of course, he never explains that, since Leg Tease is such filth, why he reads
it in the first place.
I will bet, not only does he read Leg Tease faithfully, but that he's the first
one to grab it off the newsstand shelves. He probably runs to the bathroom, jerks-
off, then calls up Jimmy Swaggart, or Jerry Falwell, or some other sanctimonious
prick, and confesses.
I have this vision, call it a fantasy if you will. I can just picture Jimmy, Jerry,
and Oral down in the basement, having a circle-jerk over the latest issue of Leg
Tease. Fantasy or reality— I wonder? What do you think?
