EDITORIAL Although we have frequently been labelled as a male chauvinist magazine, we have
more than once let the ladies say their piece in our columns. Continuing this
policy, we invited Irma Kurtz, famed lady journalist and sometimes supporter of
Women's Lib, to dissect a particular issue of Men Only. The resultant article,
Why Miss Irma Kurtz Doesn't Approve ... is saucy, slanderous, biting and frequently
hilarious. It is also, if we may say so, extremely feminine.
As the Editor of Britain's most controversial magazine, Private Eye, Richard Ingrams
is a man of strong opinions. Interviewed on our behalf by Brian O'Hanlon, Ingrams
talks fluently about politicians, journalists, libel actions, pornography and
a few other touchy subjects. A highly entertaining and anecdotal piece.
George MacBeth is probably best known as one of Britain's leading poets. However,
he recently changed over to fiction. His first novel, The Transformation, was
published to good reviews and his second, The Samurai, is scheduled for publication
at the end of this year. Our short story, Samurai, has been extracted from the
book and a reading of it will convince you that Mr MacBeth is a rare novelist
indeed.
Also included: a lavish pictorial coverage of Paul Raymond's new Revuebar show,
a special graphics feature on pubic hair, Jack Izard on sex aids, Fiona Richmond
in Toronto, some cartoons, lots of girls and assorted one-shots. Tony Power.
