MOST INTRIGUING Mystery in London concerns buxom actress Diane Cilento, real
life wife of the master Mystery-solver of the movies, Sean "James Bond"
Connery. Starring in a British play called The Four Seasons, blonde Diane turns
her back to audience, pulls down the top of her dress, and embraces leading
man Alan Bates. The Mystery is, does she actually bare her 36-inch bust, or
doesn't she? She will not tell, and neither will Bates, who disobeys her stage
plea, "Don't look at me," and looks. Sounds like an interesting case
for 007.
LATEST DEVELOPMENT in bosoms has been inspired by discotheque dancer Doda-porn-star">Carol Doda,
who brandishes her magnificent mezzanine at San Francisco's Condor Club (MM,
Sept., 1965). Carol, who started out small in show business, suddenly reached
the big-time by inflating her 32-inch chest to 44 inches with injections of
a silicone drug, and now the stunt has spread to legions of women across the
land. The government's Food and Drug Administration, which asserts the drug
is potentially injurious to health, estimates that at least 75 doctors in Los
Angeles are administering the injections at fees ranging from $750 to $1000
per patient. And, in Las Vegas, one doctor reports he has supplied 16,000 shots
to about 200 women. Meanwhile, cartoonist Al Capp—who is noted himself
for having influenced the bosom boom with his well-rounded drawings of Li'l
Abner's playmates—opines the development is too much too late. "Science
has developed this for the breast just when the derriere is coming in,"
Capp says. "It's too bad. Ten years ago it would have been a godsend."
SHARPEST CRITICISM of the late Marilyn Monroe comes from actor Tony Curtis,
who costarred with her six years ago in Some Like It Hot. "I didn't like
her . . . She was a really mean person," said Curtis while being interviewed
in Las Vegas. He added that "Marilyn was mad as a hatter. She had a woman's
body but the brain of a four-year-old. If she hadn't had that sexy look and
38-inch bust she'd have been locked up for sure." After those remarks,
maybe someone ma will be tempted to lock up Curtis.
