PUBLISHER'S NOTE
PROGNOSIS
This issue of Obsessions is the first to be published at the start of the Nineties—a new decade; a brand new era. The era in which mankind shall discover cures for illnesses which threaten the naked beauty of life. The era during which we shall gain the knowledge which strengthens our continuing travels into the future; learning more about ourselves and the world around us.
Take a moment to observe the past ten years of your life through objective eyes. What did you set out to do? What was your contribution? What did you accomplish?
How can you best advantage from that experience in life to aid you through the next ten years and beyond?
Do you feel good about yourself? Do you feel deep inside that you know yourself perhaps a little better than you did ten years ago? Do you feel that your accomplishments have garnered a great deal?
Or do you feel like a discarded piece of trash? As though your role in life was meaningless? That you were dealt a crummy hand of cards and forced to play with them just the same. . . a one-handed game by yourself?
Well, it's time to challenge any setbacks you may have encountered in the past with the overwhelming progress you have made whether you choose to believe it or not. You must draw the most positive response through your observation of the past and use this to aid your movement onward.
Ahead of us lies an unknown eternity. What you make of it has much to do with the attitude you maintain. It may be difficult for many of us to look ahead with unyielding hope when memory of failure—of lost friends and loved ones—remains so fresh in our hearts. But in order to charge ahead in search of the freedom which comes with knowledge—knowledge which draws life from apparent lifelessness; solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems; substance from absence—we must clear our minds of the burden of negativity and freshen our hopes with relentless positive thought.
Take a moment from your otherwise busy world to consider the possibilities. Become an artist and draw yourself into this new era which awaits us. Plan your future supported by the best of your past. Open your eyes to the beauty of the world around you and push onward. The best is yetto come and you are going to be a part of it.
Enjoy,
Casey Lee Klinger, Publisher/Chairman
