Playboy Turkey started publishing in January 1986 and discontinued publishing in June 1995. With a population of nearly 75 million people it would seem that Turkey could be a profitable country in which to publish Playboy magazine. However, low median income and a non-openness towards sex made it unprofitable to continue publishing Playboy in Turkey.
