Editorial Note - On The House
If this month's issue of PUB is any indication of what's in store for our growing
family of fans, 1979 promises to be a banner year. Not only do we have all those
features so familiar to our regular readers—like "Sex In Your Town,"
"Pub Crawlies," "Pub of the Month," "The Hot Times,"
and "Wild Bill," to mention a few—but we've added a helluva lot
more to tickle your fancy or stimulate the old libido (or both).
Aware of the fact that literally thousands of PUB readers are servicemen, we have
created a new continuing feature just for them. We call-it "G.I. Digest,"
and it's designed to provide them with solid information on civilian careers that
are available when and if they return to civilian life. The first, in this issue,
focuses upon the $100 billion foodservice industry, fourth largest in the nation,
and the jobs therein, from the lowly, "pot walloper" to restaurant manager.
So, to all you guys out there in the service, PUB salutes you. We think you'll
find "G.I. Digest" right down your alley.
A salute of another nature is our other new regular feature, "The Sex Report,"
a kind of intimate advisor on all manner of sexual subjects. The first includes
"The Lick of Love" by sometime contributor Frank Thistle and, in a lighter
vein, "What Love Dynamics Can Do For You" by Tern. Martin. As one of
our little girls in the office says of "The Sex Report": "It's
really a 'love and learn' experience!"
Lovely is what the PUB girls are always about, but this time around, they come
with a bonus built into their portfolios. With each one is a calendar for one
of the
first six months of 1979, to help you keep up with what's going down from day
to day. (The balance of your "calendar cuties" will be featured in next
month's issue.)
We honestly don't know how it happened, but this month our special features suddenly
took a nautical twist. The taste of salty sexual fun is evident in both fiction
pieces, "Sea Nymph Meets Son of Jaws" by Ed Grafton. and "Going
Down At Sea" by contributing editor Roy Battle. There's even a page-one story
in The Hot Times about the "Cruise Ship Girls" that go to sea for more
than their health, plus "Ye Olde Cock & Bull Story" and its tale
of a ferryman and his horny spouse, retold by John Keefauver.
So whether you're a seaman or landlubber, PUB sails into 1979 with a great cargo
of goods and goodies.
