EDITOR'S PIECE
As I write this editorial in the beginning of February, I can finally sit back
and relax for a few moments. All the holiday festivities are finally over and
the two major award shows (Gay Erotic Video Awards and the Adult Video News Awards)
have passed, as well. A much-welcomed semblance of normalcy is returning to our
lives. The previous months' award shows brought us a bombardment of high-profile
videos and news events that we have been diligently covering through the past
two issues. Now, with things finally slowing down, our ives can return to their
usual quiet state.
During my many years as a reviewer, it has never ceased to mildly amuse me watching
the trends of the industry. They are as reliable as the seasons themselves. With
the two award shows in the winter months, we see the studios rushing to release
their high-budget movies in the hopes of sweeping the awards — or at least
grabbing a few. Some of the best videos of the year typically appear at this time,
which of course, provides us with some excellent content and you with all the
highly charged viewing material you can handle. After all, that is the point of
it all! Now, with the award shows over, the studios all can collapse in a metaphorical
sigh of relief. The release of videos slows to a trickle for a bit, which gives
us, as a magazine, a little time to catch our breaths, and start planning some
improvements of our own.
Given that extra time, we have been devising some fun features for upcoming issues.
As the seasonal changes sweep over us, we would like to introduce one such change
with the issue you have in your hands. We're sure that porn iiberstar Jim Buck
has been entertaining you for the past few issues with his cybersex shenanigans.
You can rest assured that he's not going anywhere. We would, however, like to
welcome our newest porn-elite columnist to SKINFLICKS: Will Clark. I am sure you
recognize the name as belonging to an outstanding performer in many different
productions and as a model with some real staying power. In addition his sexual
proficiency, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Will is an exceptional
writer. Now, he is bringing his considerable skills and wit to us every issue
in his own column. Take a gander to page 20 and see a bit of what he has in store
for you! Some of the ideas for the column that he has presented us with very exciting. Feel free to send him e-mail at [email protected] and let him

Another interesting change that has caught us by storm is the transition of mail
from the standard variety to electronic. While we used to get stacks of snail-mail
and a trickle of e-mail, the trend has reversed itself to a staggering degree
in the past two months. Even more interesting is the fact that the overall amount
of we receive has increased! Obviously it's easier to send e-mail! In any case,
we are glad it's happening, ieoouse it is much easier for us to deal with e-mail,
and the opportunity for us to respond is also much greater. So, keep those letters
cumming! Most of what we are doing in the magazine is based on your input!
Well, they say there is no rest for the wicked. We have already started work on
the next issue and so I by this one to rest. We hope you like it!
