EDITORIAL NOTE
PASS THE PISTONS, PLEASE
yeah, I could spend this space talking about warm, wet snatches and doing the
juices, but I'd rather devote these inches of type to my latest passion. I know,
you bought this magazine to find out what's new in nookie. Don't fret, you'll
find that inside. But this is the editor's page. The page that belongs to the
editor. That means I've got the space of some 600 words to indulge myself. And
that's exactly what I intend to do.
To hell with the pussy, to hell with the irate letters, to hell with the First
Amendment diatribes. What concerns me this month is my latest acquisition—a
Citroen SM. I got the car just this weekend and it's a blend of French-Italian
craziness. It sports a V-6 Maserati engine bolted into a frame and body that is
pure French. It features a body with the aerodynamics of a bullet and an engine
with the complexity of a shuttle-shoot. All of which explains why I'm writing
about it.
I need your help. I got this car by swapping a '67 Austin Healey. The Austin was
straight-forwarded English iron-mongory. The SM is as complex as the desires of
the French and the Italian. In short, nothing short of bewildering.
There aren't a lot of these cars in the States. Best as I can determine, there
are slightly over 2,000 of the model. But I'm betting that one of my readers has
had experience with these cars. Furthermore, I'm betting that reader will be willing
to help out his editor. And help is just what I need.
Do you have a service manual for the Citroen SM? Do you know a Citroen dealer?
Do you know someone who has a cache of parts for a Citroen SM in his basement?
If so, please write or call me. I need to hear from you. For I'm holding title
to a car that is more complex than Rubik's Cube.
My personal piston plea out of the way, let me introduce this month's shattering
