EDITORIAL NOTE Although I'm writing these words on a warm morning in late April, you won't be
reading them until the hot days of summer have you sweltering in the shade, if
you're not lucky enough to have air-con-
ditioning. It isn't always easy, projecting your thoughts two or three months
into the future in an attempt to capture the attention and/or imagination of far-flung
readers with a topic controversial or comic or even profound.
I don't think the summer months are the right time for controversy and I'm feeling
far from profound or funny at the moment. Call it spring fever. The birds are
singing in the trees, there's a heated swimming pool outside my window with a
particularly handsome young man lying beside it, beckoning me to come join him.
What I really want to do—well, you know what I really want to do—but
deadlines are deadlines. Sometimes it feels like my whole life consists of one
deadline after another.
I guess that's a feeling common to everyone, no matter what their occupation.
And the great majority of the time I love my job, despite the pressures of finding
five hot young models a month to grace these pages. Then, of course, I have to
cull through many horny stories every week to find just the right ones to excite
you and select the illustrations to accompany them. On top of that, I spend many
evenings in front of my VCR, selecting the best porno tapes to review in the magazine.
Actually, having written these words, I'm suddenly feeling better. It really is
a great job. Klinger would have to drag me kicking and screaming from my office
if he ever decided to get rid of me.
But, I still want to rip off my clothes, run out the door, plunge into the pool
and then into my young man. Wouldn't you? But my sense of duty is just too strong.
I have to fill this space before I can allow myself the pleasures that are pulling
me away from my typewriter. I just have to. You are always first in my thoughts,
first in my obligations, before personal comforts, cool drinks, hot men or the
other pleasures of life.
Enough of my problems. And on to your pleasures contained in the following pages.
