EDITORIAL NOTE
With the coming of the new year, TABOO marks the beginning of a second decade
in print. We've seen many changes, both in the realm of kink and the larger world
around it, during that time and contributed in our small way to some of those
changes. Not least among those changes has been the defiant ascendency of the
word kink over the more discreet and closeted term fetish to describe all forms
of sexual activity not otherwise described as vanilla. A bigger, bolder community
of unabashed pervs flaunts its preferences with fewer euphemisms and greater candor.
At the same time, trendy scenesters for whom latex was mainly a fashion statement
have moved on to other faddish affectations, liberating the rest of us from their
poser pretensions, and good riddance. For us, it's all about the sex, always has
been and always will be. We're pleased to have found so much company in this belief.
Speaking of liberation, we've done our bit by liberating the image of the submissive
woman, literally and figuratively, by shattering the unwritten prohibition against
depicting fucking with bondage. We have gleefully celebrated the visual drama
and beauty of hot women enjoying hot sex while physically restrained. We've also
given names, faces and voices to women who identify as submissive and made plain
our affection for them and our support for their life choices.
Not only have we kicked open the door to the kink-sex closet, we've also peaked
into the bathroom to show you the previously hidden delights of wet play and intend
to keep on doing so as fearlessly as ever. Our search for new "golden"
moments goes ever onward.
In between keeping you entertained and aroused, we've also done our best to keep
you informed with our profiles and interviews of the fascinating personalities

As TABOO's realm expands to include a video line, an all-illustrated magazine
